The Power of Community
In Ontario (Kitchener and surrounding areas), we have formed the Kesekese Melash Association since 2019 which is comprised of about 200 individuals and 300 minors. We meet twice yearly for the get-together, perform cultural practices, and support each other. We strive to transfer our traditions and values to our children. We realize that our people have gone through a lot of trauma and suffering before coming to Canada. We are always trying to find ways of helping our community to get out of this situation and live a happy life. We are continuously helping each other and building a sense of community for many people by conducting various activities.
